Food Outreach and Food Relief

Food Outreach

Monday Outreach

On Monday evenings, New Hope Care receives a donation of baked goods and pastries from our long-term supporter the Charlie & Lisa Bakery in Daisy Hill. These donations are packaged up by our team of volunteers to be distributed to those in need, sharing sustenance, a good chat and community. Our volunteers also prepare fresh sandwiches to complement the baked goods. The Monday outreach involves 5 major stops along the route, including:

  • Eco Inn, Bowen Hills

  • Jeays St, Bowen Hills

  • Herston Lodge, Herston

  • Musgrave Park, South Brisbane

  • St Johns Cathedral, Anne St

  • Colville Lodge, Highgate Hill

We are fortunate to be able to impact over 60 people per week through this initiative across 5 locations. This initiative has been run for over 20yrs with New Hope Care managing the outreach in partnership with Christian Discipleship Ministries in Springwood.

Wednesday Coffee Outreach (fortnightly)

Fortnightly on a Wednesday we run our New Hope Care Coffee Van at McCaskie Park, Kelvin Grove. Each fortnight we are able to give out free coffee, prayer and support as well as a way to give back to our community and increase the awareness of our charity.

Friday Outreach

Every Friday New Hope Care conducts outreach to 25 shelters across the Brisbane inner city supplying food relief in the form of frozen cooked meals, groceries and fresh fruit and vegetables to those in need. New Hope Care partners with OzHarvest, Food Bank and donations from our local supermarkets to  acquire the ingredients needed to supply those in need with healthy pre-made meals cooked in-house by the generosity of our volunteer cooks. Our volunteers also sort and package the fresh supplies received by our partners into individual aid packages for ease and equity of distribution.
